The Road Back to Lagos
Hey Blockers,
Remember when we told you to get your passports ready?
Some of you listened.
Some of you waited until the last minute.
And some of you probably still have “Renew Passport” sitting on a to-do list somewhere.
Either way, we made it.
Cape Town happened.
The conversations happened.
The collaborations happened.
The memories definitely happened.
And now that we’ve caught our breath, there’s something we’ve been meaning to tell you.
The road leads back to Lagos.
But before we get there, let’s talk about how far we’ve come.
Last Year Changed Everything
Around this time last year, Blockfest Africa was still an ambitious idea.
A very ambitious idea.
Could thousands of people from across Africa come together around a shared belief in technology, innovation, and the future?
Turns out they could.
Over 15,000 people registered.
More than 12,000 attended. 5,000+ showed up physically and 7,000+ joined virtually.
And somewhere between the conversations, keynotes, networking sessions, side events, and countless selfies, something bigger than an event was born.
A community.
One that refused to stop moving after the lights went off.
So We Took The Movement On The Road
This year, we wanted to try something different.
Not bigger.
Different.
Instead of waiting until October, we introduced the Blockfest Africa Roadshow.
Our first stop was Cape Town.
And what happened there reminded us why we started this in the first place.
Builders sharing ideas.
Founders finding collaborators.
Strangers becoming friends.
Communities connecting across borders.
No giant stage required.
Just the right people in the right room.
The roadshow wasn’t a replacement for the flagship Blockfest event.
It was proof that the movement could travel.
And Now...
We’re Coming Home.
On October 22nd and 23rd, Blockfest Africa returns to Lagos for our flagship event.
The city where thousands gathered.
The city where momentum became movement.
The city where we’re about to do it all again.
Only bigger.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing speaker announcements, partnerships, ecosystem collaborations, community opportunities, and a few surprises we’re not ready to talk about just yet.
Trust us.
You’ll want to stay close.
Calling All Sponsors & Partners
Quick question.
Want to put your brand in front of Africa’s biggest Web3 Festival?
Thought so.
We’re officially opening sponsorship and partnership conversations for Blockfest Africa Lagos 2026.
If your organization is building in Web3, AI, fintech, developer tooling, creator economy, digital infrastructure, or the future of technology in Africa, we’d love to explore how we can work together.
Because great events don’t happen alone.
And movements definitely don’t.
If you’d like to partner with us, reach out at partnership@blockfestafrica.com
Let’s build something meaningful together.
The Newsletter Is Back
We’ve been away for a minute, but we’re back!

The best stories are still ahead of us.
Catch you soon, Blockers.
